The diamonds are carried along a chain rather than set into a solid collar, so the necklace follows the neck instead of standing away from it.

This one is 18ct white gold, set with 0.70 ct of natural mined diamonds graded GH/SI. Made from 100% certified Australian gold. The line runs to 90 individually set stones.

Will this suit me?

  • Where it sits: At about 46 cm it sits on or just below the collarbone for most people.
  • How it looks: 90 natural diamonds, 0.70 ct in total, about 6.9 g: a medium weight that suits everyday wear.
  • Everyday wear: The lobster clasp is secure and easy to fasten. 18ct is softer than 9ct and richer in colour; it wears well day to day with a little care. The bright white finish is rhodium plating, which wears with daily contact and can be renewed by a jeweller.
  • Other options: Metals: 18ct yellow gold, 9ct white gold.
  • Matching pieces: Photographed as a set with the 0.43 ct drop earrings.

The chain between the settings is doing structural work: fine enough to disappear, strong enough not to stretch between the weights it carries.

18ct white gold is 750 parts per thousand fine gold in a white alloy, finished with rhodium plating. The plating is a wearing surface and is renewable; beneath it the alloy carries a faint warm cast, which is normal for white gold.

Care. Inspect the chain either side of each setting occasionally — those points take the most flex.
